Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

An approval of research protocols by Ethics Committee in accordance with international agreements (World Medical Association Declaration of Helsinki “Ethical Principles for Medical Research Involving Human Subjects”, amended in October 2013, www.wma.net) is required for experimental, clinical and drug studies and some case reports. If required, ethics committee reports or an equivalent official document may be requested from the authors. For manuscripts concerning experimental research on humans, a statement should be included that shows informed consent of patients and volunteers was obtained following a detailed explanation of the procedures that they may undergo. For studies carried out on animals, the measures taken to prevent pain and suffering of the animals should be stated clearly. Information on patient consent, name of the ethics committee and the ethics committee approval number should also be stated in the materials and methods section of the manuscript. It is the authors’ responsibility to carefully protect the patients’ anonymity. For photographs that may reveal the identity of the patients, signed releases of the patient or of their legal representative should be enclosed.

Ethical principles and publication Policy
Ethics committee approval must be obtained for research conducted in all disciplines that requires ethics committee approval, and the “committee name, date, and issue number” of this approval should be stated and documented in the method section of the article and on the last page before the references section.

Journal policy
Manuscripts submitted to Journal of Basic and Clinical Health Sciences will go through a double-blind peer-review process. Each submission will be reviewed by at least two external, independent peer reviewers who are experts in their fields in order to ensure an unbiased evaluation process. No fee is charged for the manuscript submitted to the journal.
Due to the variability that may occur in the duration of the evaluation processes, number-based articles are not accepted. The manuscripts accepted as a result of the review processes are put in the queue for the first issue to be published. In the journal, the pre-control and reviewer assignment periods take place on an average of 7–10 days. After the review process starts, the reviewers have a 15-day invitation period and a 30-day evaluation period. Since this process may vary according to the reviewers, it is not possible to give precise information about whether the work you will submit will be able to reach the numbers whose article acceptance is ongoing.

The correction period given to the authors is 15 days, and the works that are not requested for corrections within this period will be rejected. An extension period can be added for this period if the editors are consulted. Authors can withdraw their work only during the pre-check period. In other cases, if peer-review processes have been initiated, studies can only be returned by the editors. Our journal has adopted the Open Access Policy and is served only in Dergipark. The Journal of Basic and Clinical Health Sciences requires each submission to be accompanied by a Copyright Agreement. By signing this form, authors retain the copyright of their work and agree that the article, if accepted for publication by the Journal of Basic and Clinical Health Sciences will be licensed.
