Abstract
Foreign object in the root canal is uncommon. The presence foreign objects might be asymptomatic or these bodies can cause pain and infection. Removal of a foreign object from a root canal may be carried out using a variety of techniques. These procedures may be very difficult because of the position, size, and shape of foreign body. In this case report, the symptoms and successful treatment of a broken crochet needle in the root canal of the left maxillary lateral incisor and periapical infection originated from the crochet needle in a 16 year-old men patient were presented.
ÖZET
Dişin kök kanalnda yabancı cisim bulunması nadir karşılaşılan bir durumdur. Yabancı cisim enfeksiyon ve ağrı kaynağı olabildiği gibi, asemptomatik de olabilmektedir. Kök kanalından yabancı cismin uzaklaştırılmasında kullanılan birçok teknik mevcuttur. Bu işlemlerin zorluğu cismin şekil, pozisyon ve büyüklüğüne bağlı olarak değişmektedir. Bu olgu sunumunda kliniğimize başvuran 16 yaşındaki erkek hastanın, maksillar sol lateral kesici dişinin kök kanalında kırılmış bir “tığ ucu” ve neden olduğu periapikal enfeksiyonun bulguları ve tedavisi sunulmuştur.

Journal’s publication language is English.
CDJ accepts articles in English. Submitting a paper to CDJ is free of charges. In addition, CDJ has not have article processing charges.
