Unilocular ossifying fibroma of the mandible misdiagnosed as a radicular cyst: Case report

Year 2016, Volume: 19 Issue: 1, 44 - 49, 03.01.2016

Abstract

Ossifying fibroma is a benign fibro-osseous lesion which arises mostly on mandibular molarpremolar

region. Ossifying fibroma may be asymptomatic or may cause buccolingual expansion.

The localization of the lesion is mainly on non-tooth bearing areas of the jaws. Radiographically

the lesion is presented with a range of radiographic patterns including pure radioluscency, mix

radiolucency-radiopacity or pure radioopacity. Ossifying fibroma is always well-demarcated. In

this case report, the surgical treatment of a misdiagnosed unilocular ossifying fibroma which is

in relation with mandibular second molar radix is presented.

Mandibulada radiküler kist görünümlü uniloküler ossifiye fibroma: Olgu raporu

Year 2016, Volume: 19 Issue: 1, 44 - 49, 03.01.2016
