Bir Üniversite Hastanesinde Çalışan Diş Hekimlerinin Aydınlatılmış Onam Konusundaki Görüşlerinin Değerlendirilmesi

Objectives: The purpose of the study is to identify what dentists understand by the concept of informed consent and to provide solutions that need to be developed.Materials and Methods: Sixty dentists who are working in the university hospital were included the study The study was conducted on a questionnaire answered by the participants. The questionnaire was composed of two different divisions. The division that consists of Likerttype statements was analyzing to dentist feelings whether they are competent or incompetent during taking consent form and other division was describing the demographic characteristics.Results: The 40% of surveyed dentists were academician and 60% were specialists and specialist/PhD student. The 51.7% of dentist were state that they are need to learn more about ethical and legal issues and 68.3% of them had partially adequate information about informed consent. The 71.7% of participants was stated that it would be appropriate to signing the consent form by the patient and physician together.Conclusions: The results suggest that the knowledge of the dentist about consent form is inadequate and education of ethics is needed. It is due to inadequate ethics training in schools of density in our country

Amaç: Çalışmanın amacı, günümüzdeki en önemli etik konulardan birisi olan aydınlatılmış onam alma safhasında diş hekimlerinin kendilerini yeterli hissedip hissetmediklerini saptamak, aydınlatılmış onam kavramından ne anladıklarını tespit etmek ve geliştirilmesi gereken konularda çözüm önerileri sunmaktır.

Yöntem ve Gereç: Bu araştırma, katılımcı tarafından doldurulan bir anket uygulanarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Ankete bir üniversite hastanesinde görev yapmakta olan 60 diş hekimi dahil edilmiştir. Anket, aydınlatılmış onam alma safhasında diş hekimlerinin kendilerini yetkin hissedip hissetmeme gerekçesiyle ilgili Likert türünde ifadeler içeren bir bölüm ile demografik özellikleri tanımlayan diğer bir bölümden oluşmaktadır.

Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan diş hekimlerinin %40’ı öğretim üyelerinden, %60’ı da uzman ile uzmanlık/doktora öğrencilerinden oluşmaktadır. Diş hekimlerinin %51,7’si etik ve yasal konularda daha fazla bilgi edinmesi gerektiğini, %68,3’ü aydınlatılmış onam konusundaki bilgisinin kısmen yeterli olduğunu, %71,7’si de hastadan aydınlatılmış onamın alınmasında hasta ve hekim tarafından imzalanmış şekilde yapılmasının uygun olacağını belirtmiştir.

Sonuç: Bu çalışma sonucunda elde edilen sonuçlar; diş hekimlerinin özellikle aydınlatılmış onam konusunda bilgi eksikliklerinin olduğunu ve bu konuda etik eğitimine ihtiyaç duyulduğunu göstermektedir. Bu durumu ülkemizdeki diş hekimliği fakültelerinde verilen etik eğitiminin yeterli olmaması ile açıklamak olanaklıdır.
