Abstract

ÖZET

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı Sivas ilinde bir spor lisesinde okuyan öğrencilerin diş avulsiyonu ve replantasyonu hakkındaki acil tedavi bilgi seviyesinin değerlendirilmesidir.

Gereç ve Yöntem: Yaşları 15 ile 18 arasında değişen toplam 112 öğrenci ile diş avulsiyonu ve replantasyonu hakkındaki bilgi düzeyini değerlendirmek için, profesyonel bir şekilde hazırlanmış standardize bir metot kullanıldı. Diş avulsiyon ve replantasyonu prensipleri, avulse süt ve daimi dişler, avulse bir dişin replantasyon öncesi temizlenmesi, alveol dışında geçen zaman ve saklama ortamı hakkındaki bilgi düzeyleri değerlendirildi. İstatistiksel analiz için Chi-kare testi kullanıldı.

Bulgular: Yaş gruplarına bakılmaksızın diş avulsiyonu, replantasyonu, alveol dışında geçen zaman ve saklama koşulları ele alındığında genel bilgi seviyesinin düşük olduğu görüldü. Yaşlara göre öğrencilerin daimi ve süt dişlerin avulsiyon ve replantasyonu hakkındaki özel bilgi seviyeleri karşılaştırıldığında yaş grupları arası farklılık önemli bulundu(P<0,05). 16 ve 17 yaş gruplarındaki öğrencilerin orta derecede bilgi düzeyine, 15 yaş grubundaki öğrencilerin ise en az bilgi düzeyine sahip olduğu görüldü. Saklama ortamı ile ilgili olarak öğrencilerin %60,4’ü su içerisinde saklamayı; %11,4’ü ise süt içerisinde saklamayı tercih ettiği belirlendi.

Sonuçlar: Spor Lisesi öğrencilerinin diş avulsiyonu ve replantasyonu hakkındaki ilk yardım bilgi düzeyinin düşük olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Avulsiyon ve replantasyon tedavileriyle ilgili ilk yardım bilgi düzeyinin, konuyla ilgili eğitim programları yoluyla arttırılabileceği düşünce-sindeyiz.

ABSTRACT

Objectives: The objective of this study was to assess the present knowledge level of emergency measures for tooth avulsion in schoolchildren with sports education in Sivas.

Materials and Methods: A total of 112 schoolchildren aged 15-18 years old, were interviewed bu professionals using a standardized method to score knowledge about tooth avulsion and replantation. The following fields of knowledge were assessed tooth avulsion and replantation principles, avulsed permanent/primary teeth, cleaning of avulsed tooth before replantation, extra alveolar time and storage media. Chi-square test was used for statistical analysis.

Results: Regardless of age group, there were generally a low knowledge level regarding tooth avulsion, replantation, extra alveolar time and storage media. When comparing special knowledge level of the avulsion and replantation of the permanent/primary teeth according to the age groups, the differences between age groups were found statistically important. 16 and 17 age groups had middle knowledge level. The lowest knowledge level was in 15 age group. Concerning with storage media, 60,4% of students preferred water and 11,4% of students preferred milk for storage media.

Conclusions: We conclude that first-aid knowledge in schoolchildren with sports education is low on avulsion and replantation of teeth and the knowledge level of first-aid measures on avulsion and replantation of teeth could be increased through intervention programs.
