DEMANS VE ALZHEIMER’DA MÜZİK TERAPİNİN ETKİSİ VE TÜRKİYE’DEKİ MEVCUT DURUM

Öz

Demans; bellek kaybı gibi bilişsel bozulmalar ve ruhsal, davranışsal değişikliklerle kendini gösterir. Demanslı hastalar, hastalığın evreleri ilerledikçe günlük yaşam aktivitelerini yerine getirmede zorluk yaşar ve bakıma muhtaç olurlar. Bu durum hastanın yanı sıra, ailesi içinde zorlu bir süreçtir. Hastalığın tedavisi yoktur ancak, müzik terapinin olumlu etkileri hasta ve bakım verenleri için bir umut kaynağı olmaktadır. Çok eski bir yöntem olan müzik terapi, günümüzdeki gelişen bilimin ışığında, yaşlılık hastalığı olan demansta başarılı bir şekilde uygulanmaktadır. Akademik çalışmalar tüm dünyada hızla artmakta, ancak ülkemizde hala sınırlı çalışmalar bulunmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı; literatürler ışığında müzik terapinin demans hastaları üzerinde faydalarını göstermek, ülkemizde bu alanda çalışılması gereken büyük bir boşluk olduğuna dikkat çekmek ve ülkemizde yaygınlaşması için sosyal politikalara önerilerde bulunmaktır. Sosyal politika olarak; müzik terapinin bir disiplin olarak ülkemizde kabul edilmesi, demans hastaları rehabilitasyon merkezlerinin çoğalması, bu merkezlerde müzik terapinin kullanılmasın artırılması, hasta ailelerinin toplumsal olarak desteklenmesi açısından önerilmektedir.

The Effect of Music Therapy in Dementia and Alzheimer's and the Current Situation in Türkiye

Öz

Dementia shows itself with psychological, behavioral changes and cognitive impairments such as memory loss. As the stages of the disease progress, patients with dementia have difficulty in performing their daily life activities and need care. This is a difficult process for the patients as well as their family. There is not treatment in this disease, but Music therapy is a source of hope for patients and caregivers with its positive effects. Music therapy is a very old method, in the light of today's developing science, this method has been successfully applied in dementia, which is the aging disease. Academic studies have been rapidly increasing around the World, but still limited studies in our country. The aim of this study; In the light of the literature, to show the benefits of music therapy on dementia patients, to draw attention that there is a big gap in this field in our country, and to suggest to social policies to make it widespread in our country. As social policy; it is recommended that music therapy is accepted in our country as a discipline, increase the rehabilitation centers for dementia patients, use of music therapy in these centers, and support families of patients socially.
