Mini dental implants are often used in orthodontics for anchorage purposes. In prosthodontics small-diameter implants have nbeen advocated for specific clinical situations including reduced inter-radicular bone, a thin alveolar crest and provisional support and retention of immediate dentures. This report describes the various indications in detail and gives clinical examples of cases treated by the authors.
