Retansiyon Psödokistlerinin Dental Patolojiler ile İlişkisinin Radyografi ile Değerlendirilmesi

Öz

Amaç: Retansiyon psödokistleri radyografilerde sinüs sınırlarında, etrafında kortikal sınırı bulunmayan, kubbe veya yuvarlak radyoopasitelerdir. Maksiller sinüsler dişlerle yakın komşuluktadır, bundan kaynaklı retansiyon psödokistinin etyolojisine dental patolojilerin etki edebileceği düşünülmektedir. Bu çalışmada, panoramik radyografilerde retansiyon psödokistlerinin görülme sıklığının yaşa, cinsiyete ve lokalizasyonuna göre dağılımının ve prevalansının araştırılması; dental patolojilerle ilişkisinin değerlendirilmesi amaçlandı.
Gereç ve Yöntemler: 2021-2022 yıllarında yaşları15-80 aralığında 991’i kadın 1009’u erkek toplam 2000 hastanın panoramik radyografisi kullanıldı. Radyografiler; hastaların yaşı, cinsiyeti, sağ, sol ve her iki taraftaki maksiller sinüste retansiyon psödokisti bulunması ve retansiyon psödokistlerinin dental patolojilerle ilişkisi yönünden değerlendirildi.
Bulgular: 94 (% 4.7) hastada retansiyon psödokisti tespit edildi. Retansiyon psödokistlerinin 41(%2.05)’i sağ, 42 (% 2.1)’si sol ve 11(%0.55)’i her iki tarafta da gözlemlendi. Apikal lezyon (% 24.5) ve derin dentin çürüğü (% 13.8) bulunan dişlerde tek taraflı retansiyon psödokisti görülme olasılığı anlamlı bir şekilde daha yüksek bulundu. Çalışmaya dahil edilen hastalarda yaş ile lezyon varlığı ve lezyon varlığının cinsiyet ile olan ilişkisine bakıldığında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir sonuç bulunmadı. (p > 0.05)
Sonuç: Diş hekimleri retansiyon psödokistlerinin dental patolojilerle özellikle de derin dentin çürüğü ve apikal lezyonu olan dişlerle ilişkili olabileceğiyle ilgili bilgi sahibi olmalıdır.

Evaluation of the Relationship between Retention Pseudocysts and Dental Pathologies by Radiography

Öz

Aim: Retention pseudocysts are dome or round radiopacities at the sinus margins on radiographys, with no cortical border around them. The maxillary sinuses are in close proximity to the teeth, so it is thought that dental pathologies may affect the etiology of retention pseudocysts. In this study, it was aimed to investigate the prevalence and distribution of the incidence of retention pseudocysts in panoramic radiographies according to age, sex and localization; It was aimed to evaluate its relationship with dentinal pathologies.
Material and Methods: Panoramic radiographys of a total of 2000 patients, 991 women and 1009 men, aged between 15 and 80 years, between 2021 and 2022 were used. radiographys; The patients were evaluated in terms of age, sex, presence of retention pseudocyst in the maxillary sinuses on the right, left and both sides, and the relationship of retention pseudocyst with dental pathologies.
Results: Retention pseudocyst was detected in 94 (% 4.7) patients. 41 (% 2.05) Retention pseudocyst were observed on the right, 42 (% 2.1) on the left, and 11 (%0.55) on both sides. The probability of unilateral retention pseudocyst was found to be significantly higher in teeth with apical lesions (% 24.5) and deep dentinal caries (% 13.8). Considering the relationship between age and presence of lesion and the presence of lesion with sex in the patients included in the study, no statistically significant results were found. (p > 0.05)
Conclusion: Dentists should be aware that retention pseudocysts may be associated with dental pathologies, especially teeth with deep dentin caries and apical lesions.
