Conservative approach for condylar fractures of children

Öz

6-year-old male patient was referred to Ankara University, Faculty of Dentistry, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic from a state hospital with right mandibular condyle fracture in 2010. The patient had a history of trauma (bicycle accident) in two days ago. Clinical and radiological evaluation of patient was revealed a right mandibular condylar greensticks fracture. Conservative aproach without maxillomandibular fixation was selected as a treatment option for the patient that followed physio-mechano therapy. The patient was followed-up nearly 2 years with obtaining an acceptable healing result.

Çocuklarda kondil kırıklarında konservatif yaklaşım: bir olgu sunumu

Öz

6 yaşında erkek hasta, sağ mandibuler yeşil ağaç kondil kırığı ile birlikte Ankara Üniversitesi, Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi, Ağız, Diş ve Çene Cerrahisi Kliniği’ne bir devlet hastanesinden 2010 yılında sevkedilmiştir. Hasta iki gün öncesine ait bisiklet kazası travması hikâyesine sahipti. Hastanın klinik ve radyoljik muayenesi hastanın sağ mandibuler yeşil ağaç kondil kırığını ortaya çıkardı. Hasta için maksillomandibuler fiksasyon olmadan konservatif yaklaşım bir tedavi seçeneği olarak seçildi. Bunu mekano-fizyo tedavi izledi. Hasta yaklaşık olarak 2 sene zarfında kabul edilebilir bir iyileşme sonucu elde edilerek takip edildi.

CDJ is an international journal dedicated to the latest advancement of dentistry. The aim of this journal is to provide a platform for scientists and academicians all over the world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in different areas of dentistry. First issue of the Journal of Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Dentistry was published in 1998. In 2010, journal's name was changed as Cumhuriyet Dental Journal. Journal’s publication language is English.


CDJ accepts articles in English. Submitting a paper to CDJ is free of charges. In addition, CDJ has not have article processing charges.
