Süt Azı ve Kesici Dişlerin Erken Kaybı Sonucu Dental Arkta Meydana Gelen Yer Kaybı ve Maloklüzyon Oluşumuna Etkisi: Geleneksel Derleme

Abstract

Süt dişleri çocukluk dönemi boyunca ısırma, çiğneme ve öğütme işlemleri ile sindirime yardımcı olmakta, yüzün ve çenenin gelişimini etkilemektedirler. Sürekli dişlere sürme rehberliği yaparak onların yerleşeceği boşluğu korumakta ve sürekli dişlere sağlıklı bir temel hazırlamaktadırlar. Süt dişlerinin herhangi bir müdahale olmadan, kendiliğinden düştüğü doğal durumlar haricindeki her türlü kayıp erken süt dişi kaybı olarak bilinmektedir. Çocuklarda süt dişleri; aşırı çürükler, enfeksiyon, diş travmaları, genetik sorunlar, yetersiz beslenme, parmak-dudak emme, yanlış biberon ve emzik kullanımı gibi nedenler ile erken yaşlarda kaybedilebilmektedir. Erken süt dişi kayıpları çocuklarda çok sık gözlenen ve son derece önemli bir problemdir. Herhangi bir süt dişinin erken kaybı komşu dişlerin bu boşluğa doğru kaymasına neden olmaktadır. Böylelikle yer değiştiren bir diş, sürmeye hazır bekleyen daimi dişin sürmesine engel olmakta veya ağız içinde çapraşıklığa yol açarak ark boyutunda azalmaya neden olmaktadır. Bu durumda kapanış problemleri ile birlikte ortodontik ihtiyaç da artabilmektedir. Oluşabilecek bu sonuçların şiddeti; arkta mevcut olan boşluk, daimi dişlerin sürme zamanı ve sırası, interküspidasyon, çene ve yüz kaslarının kuvveti ve kraniofasiyal büyüme ile oluşan kuvvetler, erken kaybedilen dişlerin tipleri ve sayısı, çocuğun diş yaşı gibi birçok faktöre bağlıdır. Bu derlemede süt azı ve kesici dişlerin erken kaybı sonucu dental arkta meydana gelen yer kaybı ve maloklüzyon oluşumuna etkisinin incelendiği çalışmalar irdelenmiştir.
