ÜNİVERSİTE ÖĞRENCİLERİNDEN OLUŞAN KADIN VE ERKEK VOLEYBOL OYUNCULARININ BAZI FİZİKSEL UYGUNLUK ÖZELLİKLERİNİN BELİRLENMESİ VE BİRBİRİYLE KARŞILAŞTIRILMASI

Year 2020, Volume: 1 Issue: 1, 15 - 18, 30.08.2020

Abstract

Thanks

Çalışmaya özverili katılımlarından dolayı her iki takımda oynayan öğrencilere teşekkür ederiz.

DETERMINATION AND COMPARISON OF SOME PHYSICAL FITNESS CHARACTERISTICS OF WOMEN AND MALE VOLLEYBALL PLAYERS, WHICH CONSIST OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

Year 2020, Volume: 1 Issue: 1, 15 - 18, 30.08.2020

Abstract

Objective: The aim of this study is to determine some physical fitness characteristics of male and female volleyball players, consisting of university students, and to compare them with each other.
Materials and methods: The study was carried out with 10 female and 9 male players between 18-21 years of age playing in the volleyball team of a university. Physical properties were height length, body weight, and Body Mass Index (BMI), muscular endurance, flexibility, anaerobic and aerobic capacity were selected from performance-related features. Flexibility was assessed by sit-and-reach test, aerobic capacity by Cooper test, anaerobic power by vertical jump test, and muscular endurance by push-up and shuttle test.
Results: There was no significant difference between male and female volleyball players in terms of height, body weight, anaerobic power and aerobic performance in favor of male players (p<0.05), but no significant difference in terms of BMI, flexibility and muscular endurance values (p>0.05).
Conclusion: The results of this study will contribute to the literature on the physical fitness characteristics of university students playing in the faculty volleyball team.
