Yenidoğan Yoğun Bakım Ünitesinde Çalışan Hemşirelerin ve Hekimlerin Pretermlerin Oral Beslenmeye Geçiş Süreciyle İlgili Bilgi Düzeylerinin Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Amaç: Bu araştırma yenidoğan yoğun bakım ünitesinde çalışan hemşirelerin ve hekimlerin preterm bebeklerde oral beslenmeye geçiş süreciyle ilişkili bilgi düzeylerini değerlendirmek ve yenidoğan yoğun bakım ünitesinde çalışan hemşirelerin ve hekimlerin pretermlerde oral beslenmeye hazır olma durumunu değerlendirirken kullandıkları parametreleri tanımlamak amacıyla tasarlanmıştır.
Yöntem: Kesitsel, tanımlayıcı tipte bir araştırmadır. Araştırmaya katılmayı kabul eden ve ulaşılabilen yenidoğan hemşireleri ve hekimleri (n=69) araştırmanın örneklemini oluşturmuştur. Araştırma verileri, “Preterm Bebeklerde Oral Beslenmeye Geçiş Süreci ile İlgili Bilgi Formu’ ve ‘Oral Beslenmeye Hazır Oluşu Değerlendirmede Kullanılan Parametrelere İlişkin Bilgi Formu” aracılığı ile toplanmıştır.
Bulgular: Yenidoğan hemşireleri ve hekimlerinin %24,6’sı 11-20 senedir çalıştıklarını, %31,9’u 2-5 yıl yenidoğan yoğun bakım ünitesinde çalıştıklarını ifade etmişlerdir. Yenidoğan yoğun bakım ünitesinde çalışan hemşire ve hekimlerin oral beslenmeye geçiş süreci ile ilgili en sık kullandığı parametrelerin, stres belirtileri (98,6), emme refleksi (98,6), emme ve duraklama hareketleri (95,7) ve emme gücü (94,2) olduğu belirlenmiştir. “Preterm Bebeklerde Oral Beslenmeye Geçiş Süreci ile İlgili Bilgi Formu” puan ortalaması 57,4 ±11,0 (min:32,5, max:87,5) olarak bulunmuştur.
Uygulamada Kullanım: Yenidoğan hemşirelerinin ve hekimlerinin oral beslenmeyi etkileyen çevresel faktörler, oral beslenme sırasında bebekte oluşan stres belirtileri, beslenme sırasında kullanılması önerilen terapötik pozisyonlar, oral beslenme becerilerini arttırıcı ve hızlandırıcı girişimler ile ilgili bilgi düzeyleri arttırılmalıdır. Oral beslenmeye geçişle ilgili kursların ve hizmet içi eğitimlerin düzenlenmesi önerilmektedir.

Evaluation Of Knowledge Levels Of Nurses And Physicians Working In The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Regarding Transition Process Of Preterms To Oral Nutrition

Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the knowledge levels of nurses and physicians working in the neonatal intensive care unit regarding the transition to oral feeding in preterms and to define the parameters they use when evaluating the readiness for oral feeding in preterms.
Method: It is a cross-sectional, descriptive study. Neonatal nurses and physicians (n=69) who agreed to participate in the study and were able to reach constituted the sample of the study. The research data collected through the "Information Form on the Transition to Oral Feeding in Preterm Infants’ and the ‘Information Form on the Parameters Used in Evaluating the Readiness for Oral Feeding".
Results: The neonatal nurses and physicians (24.6%) stated that they have been working for 11-20 years, and 31.9% of them stated that they worked in the neonatal intensive care unit for 2-5 years. It was determined that the most frequently used parameters by nurses and physicians during the transition to oral feeding were stress symptoms (98.6%), sucking reflex (98.6%), sucking and pause movements (95.7%) and sucking power (94.2%). The mean score of the “Information Form on the Transition to Oral Feeding in Preterm Infants” was found to be 57.4 ±11.0 (min: 32.5, max: 87.5).
Usage in Practice: The knowledge level of neonatal nurses and physicians about environmental factors affecting oral feeding, stress symptoms during oral feeding, therapeutic positions and interventions to increase and accelerate oral feeding skills should be increased. It is recommended to organize courses on the transition to oral nutrition.
