Abstract

Abstract

Technological advances also affect dentistry positively. Various computer software programs have been developed for digital smile design (DSD), which allows to perform dentofacial analysis before aesthetic treatment. DSD is a versatile conceptual tool easy to use and has clinically significant benefits: it can strengthen aesthetic diagnostic skills, improve communication between team members, create predictable systems throughout the treatment phase, and increase the effectiveness of the patient's motivation and case presentation. The aim of this review is to explain the systems used in the light of aesthetic rules and their advantages in order to make smile designs in digital environment.
