Could Chicken Eggshell Powder Be The Solution in Dentistry?

Year 2023, Volume: 5 Issue: 3 - Dental and Medical Journal - Review, 1 - 10, 31.10.2023

Abstract

This review was made to give information about eggshell and its use in dentistry. Eggshell is a natural and biologically available source of calcium, thanks to the calcium and trace minerals it contains. Although not widely used, it is used in different fields as well as in dentistry. collagen; It is the protein that connects and supports tissues such as bone, tendon, cartilage and muscle. While it was commonly obtained from bovine and pig skins in the past, collagen has been obtained from the egg shell membrane as a result of the search for alternative materials, since cattle cause diseases such as spongiform encephalopathy and foot and mouth disease. The eggshell membrane also contains collagen. In studies on eggshell in dentistry; It has been shown that eggshell improves bone regeneration, stimulates remineralization, improves the properties of restorative materials and can be an alternative to some materials. Waste recycling was achieved with the use of egg shells, and a biocompatible and economical solution was found. Eggshell and eggshell membranes are used in construction and art, as well as in healthcare, such as dentistry and medicine.

Yumurta Kabuğu Tozu Diş Hekimliğinde Çözüm Olabilir Mi?

Year 2023, Volume: 5 Issue: 3 - Dental and Medical Journal - Review, 1 - 10, 31.10.2023

Abstract

"The truest guide for everything in the world, for civilization, for life, for success, is science. Seeking a guide outside of science and science is heedlessness, ignorance, and deviating from the right path. It is only necessary to understand the development of science and science in every minute we live and to follow the progress in time. To attempt to apply the rules of science and science a thousand, two thousand, and thousands of years ago, today, after so many thousand years, is, of course, not to be in science and science."
