Re-Aestheticization in Discolored Anterior Teeth with Walking Bleach Technique: Case Series

Abstract

Devital tooth discoloration which mostly occur in the anterior region, creates important aesthetic problems. Devital tooth discoloration is mainly caused by trauma, pulp necrosis, and materials that cannot be cleaned from the pulp chamber after endodontic treatment. The intracoronal bleaching method is a cheap, simple and conservative option that is among the treatment methods for discolored teeth. Intracoronal bleaching treatments with the walking bleaching technique of the discolored anterior teeth of 3 patients who applied to Kocaeli University Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Endodontics are described in this case report. The teeth in Case 1 and Case 2 were discolored due to trauma, while the tooth in Case 3 was discolored after endodontic treatment. In all cases, the gutta-percha was removed 2-3 mm beyond the cementoenamel junction and a coronal barrier was placed. 35% hydrogen peroxide (Opalescence Endo, Ultradent Products Inc., South Jordan, USA) was used as the bleaching agent. As a result of the treatment, satisfactory aesthetic results were obtained in all three cases. Walking bleaching can be recommended as a safe alternative in the treatment of discolored devital teeth

Renklenmiş Anterior Dişlerde Estetiğin Walking Bleach Tekniği ile Yeniden Kazandırılması: Vaka Serisi

Abstract

Çoğunlukla anterior bölgede oluşan devital diş renklenmeleri önemli estetik problemler oluşturmaktadır. Devital diş renklenmelerine başlıca travma, pulpa nekrozu ve endodontik tedavi sonrası pulpa odasından temizlenemeyen materyaller neden olmaktadır. Renklenmiş dişlerin tedavi yöntemleri arasında bulunan intrakoronal beyazlatma yöntemi, ucuz, basit ve konservatif bir seçenektir. Bu olgu raporunda Kocaeli Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi Endodonti Anabilim Dalı’na başvuran 3 hastanın renklenmiş anterior dişlerinin walking bleaching tekniği ile intrakoronal beyazlatma tedavileri anlatılmaktadır. Olgu 1 ve Olgu 2’deki dişler travma kaynaklı olup, Olgu 3’teki diş ise endodontik tedavi sonrası renklenmiştir. Tüm olgularda güta perka seviyesi mine sement sınırının 2-3 mm altına indirilerek, koronal bariyer yerleştirilmiştir. Beyazlatma ajanı olarak %35’lik hidrojen peroksit içerikli ajan (Opalescence Endo, Ultradent Products Inc., South Jordan, ABD) kullanılmıştır. Tedavi sonucunda üç olguda da tatmin edici estetik sonuçlar elde edilmiştir. Renklenmiş devital dişlerin tedavisinde walking bleaching yöntemi güvenli bir alternatif olarak önerilebilir.
