Abstract

Aim: Gingiva-colored composites are frequently preferred at the aesthetical treatment of periodontitis and gingival recession patients. At the maintenance stage, professionals recommend increasing the brushing period, using floss and adding a daily-use mouthrinse to their routine. Evaluation the effects of these recommended mouthrinses on microhardness and color stability of gingivacolored composites is comprising the main aim of this research. Material and Method: For this research, 48 disc-shaped samples 12 mm diameter and 2 mm thickness were produced from a gingiva-colored composites. For the sample surface standardisation, all the samples were polished with 800, 1000 and 1200 grit SiC papers by one operator. Before the measurments, samples were kept at incubator in distilled water for 24 hours. Distilled water was selected as control group and Listerine Zero, Listerine Cool Mint, Colgate Plax were selected as mouthrinses groups. Both microhardness and color stability measurements were carried out at 0, 2nd and 12th days. Results: One Way ANOVA test was done for the evaluation of Vickers microhardness values. According to the test result, there was a statistical significance between mouthrinses exposure times p
