The Treatment of Intruded Maxillary Right Central Incisor with Orthodontic Extrusion: Case Report

Abstract

Intrusive luxation in the permanent dentition is an uncommon injury but it is considered one of the most severe types of dental trauma because of the risk for damage to the periodontal ligament, pulp and alveolar bone. When selecting treatment for traumatically intruded teeth, various factors should be evaluated including the degree of intrusion, pulp vitality, patient’s age and maturity of the tooth. The types of intrusive luxation’s classified; no treatment to allow re-eruption or surgical and orthodontic extrusion. This case report describes approach of orthodontic extrusion for maxillary right lateral incisor has intrusive luxation in 17-year-old girl who has a bicycle accident

İntrüze Olmuş Maksiller Lateral Dişin Ortodontik Ekstrüzyon ile Tedavisi: Olgu Sunumu

Abstract

Dental travmalar arasından en sık görülen travma tipinden biri olan intrüziv lüksasyon, daimi dentisyonda nadir olarak gözlenir. İntrüziv lüksasyonda pulpa, periodontal ligament ve alveolar kemik zarar görür. İntrüziv lüksasyon gösteren dişlerin tedavilerine intrüzyon derecesi, pulpa vitalitesi, hastanın yaşı ve dişin kök gelişim durumu gibi birçok faktör değerlendirilerek karar verilir. İntrüziv lüksasyon tedavisinde önerilen tedavi tipleri; dişin erüpsiyona bırakılması, cerrahi ve ortodontik olarak ekstrüze edilmesidir. Bu olgu sunumunda 17 yaşındaki kız hastanın geçirdiği bisiklet kazası sonrasında intrüze olmuş üst çene sağ lateral dişine uygulanan ortodontik ekstrüzyon tedavi yaklaşımı anlatılmaktadır
