Kök Kanal Tedavisi Yapılmış Dişlerde Final İrrigasyon Solüsyonlarının Renk Değişikliği Üzerine Etkisi*

Year 2023, Volume: 1 Issue: 2, 102 - 110, 25.09.2023

Abstract

Effect of Final Irrigation Solutions on Discoloration in Root Canal Treated Teeth*

Year 2023, Volume: 1 Issue: 2, 102 - 110, 25.09.2023

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect of different final irrigation solutions on the discoloration seen in root canal-treated teeth at certain time intervals. Extracted 96 lower premolar teeth were enlarged using a standard protocol, the samples were randomly divided into two groups, and the smear layer of 48 samples was removed (STU). The STU group and the other group were divided into groups of 12 according to the final irrigation solution to be used, and the final irrigation solutions were applied. All samples were evaluated by spectrophotometer five times: on day 0 (before treatment), day 7, day 15, after one month, and after three months, and the values were noted. Statistical analysis was performed with ANOVA, LSD, and paired t-tests. Statistics between L, a, b, ΔΕ values determined at the 0th day (1), 7th day of treatment (2), 15th day (3), first month (4), and 3rd month (5) before treatment. No difference was found (p> 0.05). In conclusion, Different irrigation solutions (NaOCl, CHX, and OCT) may not cause color changes in teeth at varying time intervals
