Abstract
Bu araştırmada; genç ve yaşlı popülasyonda, zor havayolu probleminde farklılık olup olmadığı, Mallampati skoru, tiromental mesafe ölçümü, problemli dişler, kesici dişler arasındaki açı ve baş boyun hareketinin tesbiti ile belirlenmeye çalışıldı.
Araştırılan gönüllü kişiler (ASA I-III) iki farklı yaş grubundan rasgele seçildi.
Grup I: 60-90 yaş (n=100)
Grup II: 18-30 yaş (n= 100)
Mallampati skoru, yaşlı grupta artmış olsa da fark anlamsızdı. Tiromental ve sternomental mesafe ölçümleri yaşlı grupta anlamlı olarak yüksek bulundu. (p < 0.05) . Ayrıca mallampati skoru yüksek (3,4) ve tiromental mesafesi < 6 cm altındaki kişilerde de iki grup arasında fark anlamlıydı. (p < 0.05)
Sonuç olarak zor entübasyonu öngörmek için yapılan yatakbaşı testlerde yaşlılarda anlamlı farklılık görülmektedir.
