Abstract
The primary cause of infections in the head and neck region is the odontogenic origin. There are many factors that prevent the spread of infections in the region anatomy, as well as the various causes of odontogenic infections. Disregarded infections or inefficient treatments result in the spread of these infections to important anatomical localizations. Despite the advancing diagnostic and therapeutic approaches, head and neck infections continue to be complicated in terms of dentists. It will be possible to plan treatment with head and neck infections with a multidisciplinary approach and to apply correct treatment by knowing the region anatomy and spreading routes well. In this review, we aim to present the causes of odontogenic infections, the routes of spread, and the serious complications that may occur.

Abstract
Baş boyun bölgesindeki enfeksiyonların bir numaralı nedeni odontojenik orjinlidir yani diş ve çevre dokuları kaynaklıdır. Odontojenik enfeksiyonların çeşitli nedenleri olmakla birlikte bölge anatomisinde enfeksiyonların yayılımını önleyecek pek çok faktör vardır. İhmal edilen enfeksiyonlar ya da yetersiz tedaviler bu enfeksiyonların önemli anatomik lokalizasyonlara yayılımı ile sonuçlanmaktadır. Gelişen tanı ve tedavi yaklaşımlarına rağmen baş ve boyun enfeksiyonları diş hekimleri açısından komplike vakalar olmayı sürdürmektedir. Baş ve boyun enfeksiyonlarında multidisipliner yaklaşımla tedavi planlaması yapmak ve bölge anatomisi ve yayılım yollarını iyi bilmekle doğru tedaviyi uygulamak mümkün olacaktır. Bu derlemede odontojenik enfeksiyonların oluşum nedenleri, yayılım yolları ve oluşabilecek ciddi komplikasyonları sunulması amaçlanmıştır.
